Prange retires after 32 years at Thomas Hill Energy Center
Greg Prange of Keytesville, Missouri, said he looks forward to spending more time with his family after retiring from 32 years with Associated Electric Cooperative at its Thomas Hill Energy Center. “It’s been a very good job and good to me,” he said. He also appreciates how it was able to help him with retirement.
Prange joined AECI around 1983 as a utility operator at Thomas Hill Energy Center before switching over to a yard equipment operator in the coal yard. He said he’s appreciated the chance to work with lots of good people and to have good experiences.
He noted his job has become safer and easier since he began. “The equipment has gotten a lot better,” he said. “Everything about the job has improved over the years.”
After retirement, Prange plans on spending time with his family and enjoy boating and traveling on the lake near his home and traveling.
To others still working, Prange offered advice. “Just try to keep a good attitude towards your work. It’s something we have to do. The better your attitude is towards it, the happier you can be at your job.”
