Application and hiring process

The typical process is to recruit for applicants, review documents as they are submitted, and then begin contacting qualified applicants to schedule interviews. However, each hiring supervisor is different.
Union positions for operations, coal yard, warehouse and custodian require a pre-employment test before being considered for a position. Immediately after applying, you will receive an email with further instructions on how to schedule your pre-employment tests. For union positions in instrumentation, electrical and maintenance also require a pre-employment test. If you meet the qualifications, a recruiter will reach out to schedule the test.
Qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring supervisor or recruiter to schedule an interview. The timeline can vary based on the position and the number of applications received.
Once the employment tests are completed, you will be notified if you were recommended/not recommended for the role based on your test results. If recommended, the hiring supervisor will determine who to schedule for interviews.
If you took the pre-employment test after July 19, 2022, for the same position you apply for later, then you will not need to retake it. If it was before this date, or for a different position, call the phone number provided to you via email for clarification.
You will be notified via email once the position has been filled.
